ChilliCrosser 891 Posted July 13 A potential F1 for a cross I made between one of my domesticated C.baccatum hybrids and C.tovarii. It stalled early in its growth But now I’ve got it to wake up. I suspect the growth here is as a result of wild genes and branching as it’s not short of light in the glasshouse. Next check point will be when buds and flowers appear.

Looking forward for flowers You and me both 🤞 If it ends up as a self-pollinated domesticated baccatum you have my permission to delete my thread while I go away and hide somewhere 🤣 I’d love to have breeding lines for both combinations of the tovarii interspecific hybrids that were mentioned in the 1990’s research. I’ll have both if this one has worked. Getting there…..
ChilliCrosser 891 Posted July 20 An F4 from another project, the first F4 to ripen has kept the colour combination I liked. Need to wait and see if the other F4s have better shapes or better flavour/heat.

Lonewolf 18,522 Posted August 6 Nice! Let's see fruits
ChilliCrosser 891 Posted August 9 I had an older C.flexuosum plant last year the had a small branch that seemed to show spontaneous variegation. That branch ultimately died off before any berries but I did take some pollen from a flower that had a variegated pedicel. I crossed with some other C.flexuosum plants in an attempt to capture this, those F1 plants are growing this year and I’ll search in F2 for the variegation. That’s the background. Now this year, the same original C.flexuosum plant has given some other small new sections which are showing some variegation. This gives me another chance to try and get seed directly from these sections if they last long enough. It’s going better than last year, I already have some berries forming on white or variegated pedicels. There are also more white nodes breaking out new growth.
