Nice topic. I prune foliage and roots, clean plant and roots with detergent, neem, mild bleach.Repot in clean medium.

:shok:

You wash the plants with bleach and they DO NOT die?

Tell me John... post-779-0-36473400-1386486949.gif Who really You are?

Nice topic. I prune foliage and roots, clean plant and roots with detergent, neem, mild bleach.Repot in clean medium.

I grow seedlings indoor until spring. Protect them with my life...hahaha Keep all insects outside!

Always water containers from bottom!!!! Leave 2cm of dry soil on top. Keeps fungus gnats away.

This is a "brand" new technic for for us John !

Traduzione in Italiano (semplificata)

"Topic interessante:

Ehi John, a couple of questions for you:

1 - What is the temperature in your apartment during the winter (when you keep pruned plants inside ?).

2 - How long do you keep pruned plants indoor usually ?

3 - Do those plants grow new leafs when they are indoor ? If yes, how much time after pruning/repotting ?

4 - What is the percentage of success (plants which don't die and produce regularly the season after) ?

Thanks !

@Hotcat.... Hahaha,Marty Feldman. Use only 1 capful of bleach for 19 liter (5gallonUS)bucket. Kills insects and eggs, also helps kill fungus/bacteria. Compulsivo!!!

@Rapace..

1. Room is 15° C

2. November - May very short season here. Last frost May 15-June 1.

3. Plants will put new foliage and blossoms instantly. Blossoms will not produce a lot of pollen.I use sterile medium(no nutrients) and place next to a southern (strongest natural light in northern hemisphere)facing window. I fertilize 1 or 2 months before taking outside. Fertilization and lighting depends on how large you want plant to grow. Obviously,if you use flourescent or HID lighting, with fertilizer, your plants will thrive.

4. 75-80% survival for me.

P.S. plant in pictures is not Aji Omnicolor hahahaha

Very nice technique.

I think I will try something like this before put plants in environment with low light and temperature to let they overwinter in little space.

I really like to grow from seed,so I don't do this often. Some special plants get this treatment.

Here is a recent plant.

11280358835_146ccdda58_b.jpg

Cut close to a node so stem dies only a little.

I forgot to mention. I spray plant, nodes, and surface of soil with miticide/fungicide.

Ciao a tutti,

Secono voi come è meglio procedere ?

E' in fiore !!! :o
