Thanks guys for the coments!It is now just 8-12°C up here. brrrrrr. It is time to give the Capsicum Chinense some extra heat and extra light inside. ReagardsPatrik

wow amazing pubescens, i love cap 1492 more fruits are coming on my plants.Last night was about 10 c°, yesterday morning i saw snow on the mountains from my window...not so good for hot peppers, but of course pubescens love it. what about your light inside? You use neon or others? For all the plants?

I use just very simple lamp (low energy) from IKEA. Sometimes I overwinter some plants. But most of the plants I take inside is becasue I want the pods to mature. So I am not nice to the plants, just some extra light for the pods to mature - then the plant dies or I through it away.Yes, the Pubescens is very cold resistent. Some says it might even handle som light frost. It grows in the Andes, i belive.//Patrik

Yes, it's so ... but all the rocoto I left outside in the past winter died.Only few plants survive outside along all winter without any protection: a chiltepin and some C.baccatum (rocotillo).The baccatum is the species most resistant to the frost.

Ok, good to know! Up here in sweden all plants outside die. Last year I tried to overwinter some plants indoor at 10-12 C at the counrtyhouse. They had no extra light. All of the pubecens survived, most of the annuums and baccatums aswell, but most of the chinense died or almost died. Dont know if it was the light or the temperature that killed the chiense plants. Probably both.//Patrik
