Wow! Peppers in a botanical garden ... in Northern Europe! In our botanical garden we should have a lot of these plants; we have a far hotter and suitable climate!Instead I almost never saw peppers in botanical garden ... to say all what it's to say, we have also very few botanical gardens  I wrote "almost" because I saw a pepper plant in a garden many years ago ... it was in the wonderful Giardino Sigurta' near Verona (at Valeggio sul Mincio).I didn't start to grow peppers yet, but I was irresistibly attracted by those red pods (few standard round C.annuum) and I ... stole a pod ( ) and ate it later over my pizza :P Maybe that day was born my true passion for peppers.

Yes the Botanical Garden of Stockholm is great. Now they have about 20 peppers on display. A couple of years back they had a pepper exhibition with about 170 peppers. Nagalone, your place should be the botanical pepper garden of Italy! RegardsPatrik

Here are som links about (Peruvian) Shiny Red:Mats picturesDave Dewitts jewelIn a swedish chile pepper book the shiny red is highly recomended. I am growing 2 plants this year. The plants tend to be quite tall. They pods have a nice heat (in my opinion not extremly hot, but hot enough). And it has a very nice chinense taste. The pods on my plants tend to be of several sizes. I belive when you grow peppers i cold climate it can have this effect on the pods.RegardsPatrik
